The Greater Yarmouth area is full of interesting and entertaining things to see and do, whether you're on holiday, day -tripping or live in or around Norfolk. Because people visit us all the year round, we have a good mix of both indoor and outdoor activities to suit the leisure needs of young and old alike. So, even if it's raining – though East Anglia does enjoy the least rainfall of anywhere in the UK – there's still lots to keep everyone happy! Pleasure Beach Welcome to the Pleasure Beach Great Yarmouth – East Anglia’s most popular tourist attraction, occupying a nine-acre seafront location. The main park itself has over 20 large rides as well as crazy golf courses, water attractions, kiddie rides and awe-inspiring white knuckle classics. In 2006 over 1.4 million people visited The Pleasure Beach, putting us in the top ten free entry amusement parks in the UK and we aim to add to this, with even more new rides, attractions and innovations. Fritton Lake Countryworld If you are looking for a full day out in the country then you will go far and wide to beat Fritton Lake Countryworld. The scenic grounds offer a beautiful contrast between natural woodland and splendid Victorian gardens. Fritton Lake itself has boating and fishing both available. A miniature railway runs by the lake. Also on site are a nine hole par three golf course and an eighteen hole putting green, displays of falconry, a children’s farm and a heavy horse centre with working Soffolk Punches and Shires. Elizabethan House Museum Experience the lives of families who lived in this splendid Quayside house from Tudor to Victorian Times. Decide for yourself if the death of Charles I was plotted in the Conspiracy Room. Dress the family in Tudor costumes. Discover Victorian life ‘upstairs and downstairs’ and what it was really like to work in the kitchen and scullery. Children will particularly enjoy the activity packed toy room. Pause for a moment of peace in the small but delightful walled garden. Hippodrome Circus Circus Hilarious (The Circus of Laughter) presents The 007 Tour - a brand new production for 2007 for all the family: Mums, Dads, Grannies, Granddads, kids of all ages – sit back and enjoy the knock-about humour, slapstick, comedy magic and all-round madness of panto and circus favourites, Clive Webb and Danny Adams, as they go one step beyond and romp through the spoof 007 in their own inimitable way, ably assisted by Miss Funnypenny -award winning clown Cousin Timoni. Join them in another magic moment of lunacy. Also featuring 18 year old illusionist Jonny Marx, Bolaz from Hungary on the German Wheel & BMX, Ovi Ninja from Rumania, the lovely Circus Hilarious Dancers, and the very popular antics of rock band Clownforce, under the eagle eye of ‘Y’. |
